Honorary Memberships

Honorary Memberships are given to individuals who are not members of USAIN, but who have been either an outstanding individual in the field of agricultural information or who have provided outstanding service and support to the Network.

2016

Dr. Karen Launchbaugh (Professor and Director of the Rangeland Center, University of Idaho), Dr. George Ruyle (Professor and Marley Endowed Chair for Sustainable Rangeland Stewardship, University of Arizona), and Dr. John Tanaka (Associate Director of the Wyoming Agricultural Experiment Station and the Director of the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Extension Center) in recognition of their leadership and outstanding work with the Rangelands Partnership.

2012

Ms. Gauri Salokhe, Office of Knowledge Exchange, Research and Extension (OEK) Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field of agricultural information.

2010

Peter R. Young, Library of Congress, in recognition of his role as Director of the National Agricultural Library and for his contributions to the field of agricultural information.

2006

Sarah Thomas was one of USAIN's charter members and served as a leader in agricultural librarianship at the National Agricultural Library and Cornell University. Ms. Thomas is currently the Director of University Library Services at Oxford University.

2001

Nancy Eaton, Dean of Libraries, The Pennsylvania State University, for her work in the early development of USAIN, and for her pioneering activities in the electronic dissemination of information, such as AgNIC and the National Agricultural Text Digitizing Program;

Jan Kennedy Olsen, formerly Director of Mann Library at Cornell University, for her visionary and pioneering activities in the field, including the development of the national preservation program for agricultural information;

Sam Demas, College Librarian and Senior Lecturer at Carleton College Library, for his leadership and direction, also in the development of the national preservation program for agricultural information.
