Introduction of Executive Council
Minutes of Previous Meeting: No official business was conducted at the 2003 meeting so there are no official minutes.
Treasurer's Report: USAIN continues to be healthy financially and to maintain the required reserves.
AgNIC Memorandum of Agreement: This MoA was up for renewal and the USAIN Executive Council decided to renew the agreement. Current President-Elect Luti Salisbury will send it to AgNIC in July.
Archivist's Report: The Archivist, Amy Paster, reminded past officers and others to send USAIN materials to her.
Leadership Council for Agricultural Information and Outreach: As President of USAIN, Pat Wilson attended two of these meetings examining ways in which librarians and extension can work together.
USAIN Special Activities: The Executive Council decided to send a $1,000 donation to IFLA for their library tsunami relief fund. USAIN also donated $500 to the University of Hawaii Foundation for their library flood relief fund. Two of the pre-conference sessions were sponsored by USAIN: Fundamentals of Digital Preservation and Harvesting Data for the Masses. USAIN awarded two new member scholarships and one student scholarship for this conference. Recipients were: Innocent Awason (new member); Jill L. Dotts (new member); and, Leslie M. Delserone (student). In addition, USAIN sponsored the conference attendance of a Tribal Land Grant Librarian, Amelia Flores.
Nominations/Elections Committee Report: Chair Jodee Kawasaki announced the newly elected officers. Heather Moberly is the new President-Elect. The newly elected Directors are Debbie Currie, Allison Level, and Mary Ochs. Luti Salisbury becomes the new President on 1 June 2005. Between 60% and 70% of the membership voted in this year's elections.
2006 Conference: Mary Ochs formally invited everyone to attend the 2006 USAIN Conference at Cornell University. The Conference will take place during the first week of October. Northwest Airlines has initiated a new flight into Ithaca, New York from Detroit and this will make travel to the conference easier.
